I have used AutoCAD since 1985 and I introduced it to a number of architectural and engineering firms in New Zealand up to 2000.
The software led the introduction of CAD into the culture of design and documentation revolutionizing the process of manual draughting and introducing the role of the microcomputer into the workflows used in the building industry.
This website provides an overview of the applications and processes that I use. Much of the development was undertaken before 2000 but many of the processes and techniques are still relevant to AutoCAD in 2022 and the code still works.
The role of CAD has been enveloped by BIM and much of my work is undertaken with Revit but I still use a lot of AutoCAD.
